Happy Christmas Eve

Well El Jay, its been a minute since I've posted. Let's give a quick catch up...I'm 33 soon 34, yikes. I work for Walmart home office still. I'm a store planner for the company. I travel around the North East a lot and occasionally in the South. Currently I am setting up a new store in the Pittsburgh area. In July, my best friend in the entire world and I moved into our house. We now have two kittens, Deeley and Murphy. I really need to keep up on here as this is my only form of contact with some of you. I hope everyone has an awesome Christmas and New Year.

It's been awhile...

Wow, I haven't posted on here in a very long time. The new job has been keeping me pretty busy and away. I've worked in Pittsburgh from February to April, then Baltimore from April until July and now I am currently in D.C. until the end of October. Things will wind down then and I will be home from November until next February -- only to start all over again with travelling. I love the job. I like the change and new scenery just when you get tired of being where you are.

Other things, hmm, well September hasn't been all that great of a month. 3 days into it I had to go to the hospital with this incredible pain in my lower left side (right above my groin). After a CT scan it turned out I have diverticulitis. 2 weeks on medication and eating nothing but soups, jell-o and pudding I finally feel better. I am still very cautious at eating. I am afraid of getting it back. The medication I was on was rough. I would be perfectly ok for a minute and the next I was throwing up projectile style for what seemed like 10 minutes. It was also putting me a pretty shitty mood the entire time. I just felt blah for the whole time I was on the meds. So I am doing what it takes to avoid it coming back. In the process, I've lost 11 pounds ;-)

Two good friends of mine got married on 9/11. That was fun.

Currently, my best friend is living it up in Spain for 2 weeks. I miss him. :-(

5 days in Rehomo

Day 1 - Got off work at 7am, did not sleep on the way down. Started drinking at 4pm. Was hammered by 9. Got kicked out of Cloud 9 for stripping, woopsies.

Day 2 - A little more mellow on the drinking as I did not want a repeat of prior nights events. Spent the better part of the afternoon on the beach, went to Cloud 9 again. Had fun.

Day 3 - Decided to live it up on vacation so drank heavily again ( I think my liver hates me). Went to Aqua, Blue Moon & Mass. Mass is new because I do not remember it but it is an old Catholic church they turned into a gay club. What a concept! Had a blast there!!

Day 4 - Last night we were all tired and decided we were not going out. BUT around 11:30 as we all layed in bed, not one of us could sleep so we got dressed and went out and wound up having another fun time out.

We left today around noon and I was sad. =-(

Going places...

I haven't posted a real update on here in quite some time, oh well.

BUT good news is I am no longer an Assistant Manager for Walmart. I am now a Field Project Supervisor for Walmart. Basically, I travel around the North East (from Virginia to Maine but mainly in PA) to stores that are remodeling, grand opening or have any special fixture projects ongoing and make sure things are getting installed correctly, remodels are moving along on time, etc. I am pretty excited about this job because 1. It gets me out of hell aka Harrisburg, PA Walmart and 2. Field Project Supervisor sounds so much better than Assistant Manager :-)

So, when people ask me what I do for work I say "Oh, I work for Walmart."and not "I work at Walmart." There is a difference and I like it!

Wow

I just went back to the very beginning of my journal and read my posts. It's incredible how much I have changed since 2003. On the otherhand, when did I grow up? LOL

More good news

"The D.C. Council voted today to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states, on the same day that Vermont became the fourth state to legalize same-sex unions."

The trend starts. WOO VERMONT! 46 more to go!

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- A ten-year battle to grant same sex couples the legal right to marry culminated in a dramatic political showdown Tuesday at the Statehouse with the house voting to override Gov. Jim Douglas' veto of the gay marriage bill.

The House voted 100-49 to override the veto Tuesday. The vote tally was greeted by rousing applause in the House chamber.

The state House and Senate sent the bill to the Governor’s office Monday evening where, as expected, it met with rejection.

The Senate began the override debate at about 10 a.m. as lobbying continued in the House chambers nearby. "This is our moment," Sen. Peter Shumlin told senate members as the Senate debate began.

The debate was short as the Senate voted to override Douglas' veto 23-5.

New love interest.

I have become so domesticated lately. It's pretty scary. I started cooking at home. This is a big deal. I never cook unless it came out of a box and went in the microwave. I am not sure my oven knows how to react to all this use. Friday, I made my first meatloaf. It was a hit with some firends. I was quite proud. Tonight I am making scalloped potatoes and ham. Another first for me but it is also my favorite meal. My mom used to make it for my birthday when I was a kid. I figured my birthday is close enough (April 24 for those wanting to buy me something nice) might as well make it now. Real potatoes too. w00t
